Pre Lit Christmas Tree – Save Some Time This Season

Pre Lit Christmas Tree – Save Some Time This Season

Artificial Christmas trees are becoming more and more popular with every passing year and one of the best selling models is a pre lit tree.I know decorating the tree is all part of the holiday tradition but sometime there is just no enough time to get it all done. You can save some time and save some money with a pre lit artificial Christmas tree.

These trees will benefit you in several ways. First, there is no more struggling with tangled wires. You know exactly what I am talking about. Each and every year you put your lights away and you do it in such a way as to avoid the rat’s nest of tangles but somehow they always manage to get tangled and you have to spend an hour or so untangling them. That is not fun and sometimes the holiday season can be stressful enough on it’s own. You do not need that hassle. With a pre lit tree you can avoid all of that frustration because the lights are built into the Christmas tree.

Another great feature of a pre lit tree is the fact that they use less energy. That means a lower power bill for you and ho does not want to save some cash, especially around the holiday season. Using less energy is also great for the environment.

When the holidays are over and it is time to put everything away, storing a tree could not be any easier. Since everything is built into the tree itself, the only thing that you have to prep for storage is the tree! Do yourself a favor and get a pre lit tree for your holiday season. You will be glad you did!

Christmas Lights: The Ultimate Way To Decorate Your Home

Christmas Lights: The Ultimate Way To Decorate Your Home

Holiday lights; we have all seen them and most of us have used them before. When it comes to Christmas lights, we often associate those lights with Christmas trees. While Christmas lights are most commonly used to light Christmas trees, did you know that they can also be used for much more? If you are planning on decorating your home for the holiday this year, I suggest you to examine what else Christmas lights can be used for. After a close inspection examination, you will likely see that lights can be used for a lot more than you may have originally thought.

As previously mentioned, when it comes to holidayChristmas lights, we often associate Christmas lights with Christmas trees. This is because most individuals decorate their Christmas trees with holiday lights. What is nice about using holiday lights on a Christmas tree is that the lights come in a variety of different sizes and styles. It is possible to buy Christmas lights with small light bulbs, as well as large ones. Traditional holiday lights come white in color or with a combination of all different colors. In recent years, the demand of different colored lights has skyrocketed. You can now buy single colored Christmas lights or lights with a specific color combination. These types of lights are ideal for those who are wanting to theme their Christmas tree.

Although many individuals choose to use holiday lights for their Christmas tree, as mentioned above, there are other uses for them as well. One of those ways is for decorating the outside of your house. Online and in many retail stores across America, you can easily find Christmas lights that are designed for outside use, especially around a house. These type of lights are often referred to as icicle holiday lights. Icicle Christmas lights allow the lights to drape off the side of a home. While it is possible to find multicolored outdoor holiday lights, you will find that they are most commonly sold in the traditional white color.

In addition to decorating the outside of the outside of your house with Christmas lights, you can also decorate the landscape outside of your home. A number of homeowners, each year, decorate the trees outside their home, often exactly like their indoor Christmas tress. Many times, these trees are relatively small in size; therefore, the same types of Christmas lights that can be used on a regular Christmas tree can also, sometimes, be used on an outdoor tree. Decorating the small trees in your yard is a great way to bring a touch of Christmas to your block.

You can also use Christmas lights to decorate any one of the rooms that can be found inside your home. There are many individuals who hang Christmas lights along the top of their walls. This is a great way to bring extra Christmas cheer into the room that your Christmas tree is in, as well as other rooms. In fact, you can even use Christmas lights to decorate one of your home’s bedrooms. This idea is often loved by teenagers and other children; many enjoy the bright lights and colors. Decorating your home’s bedrooms is a great way to bring the Christmas cheer into a room that you may have otherwise not decorated.

As nice as it is to decorate your home for Christmas, you may also want to decorate your office or your workspace. Keep in mind that not everyone celebrates Christmas|>Unfortunately, not everyone celebrates Christmas. This may be a problem, when it comes to decorating your office. However, you may still, in many circumstances, use holiday lights to decorate your office. In most cases, you will find that it is the items that are exclusively Christmas that cause the problems, not the lights themselves. Therefore, if your supervisors allow it, you could easily hang Christmas lights around your office walls or along the sides of your work desk.

Isn’t it amazing all of the different ways that you can use holiday lights to decorate your home or even your office? What is even more amazing is the above mentioned examples are just a few of the numerous ways that you can use holiday lights to bring the holiday spirit into your home or office.

LED Christmas lights, a good buy

LED Christmas lights, a good buy

In recent years we have seen in stores during the holiday season, a new type of Christmas lights, LED lights. LED Christmas lights are quickly becoming popular, especially because of their many advantages, when compared to traditional lights.

Here’s why people are now buying LED Christmas lights or LEDs, if you prefer. Regarding energy saving, LED lights were the best. If you like to decorate a lot during the Christmas party, choose LED lights, so you save on your electricity bill.

Another benefit of these LED lights is their life. Yes, the average lifespan of an LED light can exceed 100,000 hours. Imagine, even if you leave your Christmas lights on all day throughout the holiday season, you can reuse them for tens of years without problem.

As a final advantage, the LED Christmas lights do not require virtually no maintenance and are much more reliable and robust than conventional Christmas lights. That’s why so many people buy today what type of light to decorate their homes at Christmas. Convinced?

LED Christmas lights have a meteoric rise in sales in stores. Several advantages, including energy conservation, these lights are the first choice among many consumers. Some features on these LED lights.

As you are interested in energy consumption, here are some very interesting statistics. Christmas Lights conventional pear-shaped can consume 5 watts to 20 watts for each light. Small blisters usually fitted to the Christmas garlands, they consume between 0.5 and 1 micro watt per lamp. Finally, the Christmas lights with LED technology are the most economical on the market today. These lights consume 0.05 to 0.1 watts only. As you can see, at the environmental level, the LED Christmas lights are much better than the other two types of lights. Besides, who said saving energy, also said saving money on your electricity bill?

LED Outdoor Christmas Lights

As I was trying to find out if LED lights are more efficient and why, I came upon some interesting facts not only about LED lights but the past of Christmas Tree Lights….interesting…

And yes, LED lights which stands for light-emitting diode, are more energy efficient.  We can get very technical but…I’m concerned with energy saving. Since I use lots and lots of Christmas lights outdoors its nice to know that LED Outdoor Christmas lights are in fact not only saving me money, but using less electricity as well.

LED technology has come a long way in the past three years. LED technology is used in brake lights, remotes, electric clocks, calculators, traffic lights and many other devices that we use everyday.

Interestingly enough, the first electrically lighted Christmas Tree was introduced in 1882 by an associate of Thomas Edison, Edward Johnson. The first lighted Christmas tree was introduced just three years after electricity was invented by Edison. The tree was in the parlor of Johnson’s New York City home, located in the first section of that city to be wired for electricity.

Compared to traditional Christmas lights, LED lights give off a brighter, almost bluish light and come in different sizes, shapes and colors. The many different shapes of LED Christmas lights give you more options of how you want to decorate for Christmas. LED lights are available for indoor or outdoor use. So you will not only be conserving energy, saving on your electric bill but have much more variety.

Pre Lit Artificial Christmas Trees

Pre Lit Artificial Christmas Trees

Having the economic crisis looming over our heads, more and more people are looking to curb down their expenses and because of this they opt to get prelit artificial Christmas trees instead of authentic Christmas trees. It’s hard to imagine Christmas without displaying a Christmas tree on your home.

Artificial Christmas trees can give you a chance to save up. Instead of using the money to buy a traditional Christmas tree every year, you can just buy an artificial tree, place it in storage by the end of the season and then bring it out by the next year. If stored properly, it will retain its shape and quality. Thus, it gives you the perfect tree for years to come.

However, one disadvantage with traditional trees that homeowners dislike is that real trees can make an absolute mess in your home. One thing that bothers most homeowners is the fact that traditional trees need water in order to remain fresh. This means constantly refilling their water containers. Apart from that, there are the needles. Some of them get embedded in the carpet and can be an absolutely tedious task to clean up. Moreover, there’s the tree sap. This can go into your floor or carpet and can be sticky, and a pain to get rid of.

One, it entails savings on expenses. Using an artificial tree means being able to use it year after year without having to buy a new Christmas tree. Two, having an artificial tree means you are safer from fire hazards. Three, taste and preference is not a problem since you have a variety of trees to choose from. For example, a four foot tree is available as well as a 30 foot tree. Four, the color as well as the tree shape is also varied. Five, artificial trees look just like real Christmas trees. It’s difficult to even tell the difference. Today’s artificial trees are made of high-quality that it’s hard to even tell them apart from the real thing. Details such as color, shape, even the branches are mimicked to the littlest degree.

Pre lit Artificial Christmas Trees

Buying prelit artificial Christmas trees means getting benefits. On the other hand, buying them also means receiving disadvantages. Here are two good reasons for the disadvantages of commercially sold Christmas trees in comparison to real Christmas trees.

First disadvantage with having an artificial tree is that for most people the process of having a traditional tree has become somewhat a tradition. There is no denying that there is an indescribable joy whenever you march out and pick you own tree. People who had strong traditions at home will definitely miss out on this feeling. When you decide to get a traditional tree, you will not get any of these special traditional and feelings. However, you can fix this problem by simply marching up to a tree lot or farm, walk around and feel the surrounding. This will ease your yearning for tradition and will also help you prepare to decorate your own artificial tree once you go home.

Plain tree stands for pre-lit artificial Christmas trees are trouble-free and undemanding to use. Most of the time, the setup won’ give you any problems. They fold into a triangle shape, but when you need to use them, they are usually shaped like an X. A word of caution, however, if you are going to use this tree stand for your artificial tree, make sure to line the bottom with cloth or place it on top of the carpet so that you will not scratch the floor.

Whatever type of tree you’ll settle with, whether its traditional trees or prelit artificial Christmas trees, it is important to remember that you are celebrating the season of sharing and loving.

You will also need to add some Unique Christmas Ornaments to your tree.

Outdoor Christmas Lights – Safety Tips for Installation

Outdoor Christmas Lights – Safety Tips for Installation

As the festive season approaches more of us are being adventurous in our choice of Christmas lighting. We’re rapidly becoming more ambitious and imaginative, a fact that is reflected by the steadily rising annual sales of outdoor Christmas lights. Without wishing to introduce a Scrooge-like note, it’s just as well to be cautious in exactly how we go about putting up those outdoor fairy lights. Winter weather often means snow and rain – and that means water. And water and electricity are a potentially dangerous mix.

Not only this, but we’re getting more accustomed to draping runs of icicle-effect lights along our guttering or soffits, which can be a hazardous project, especially if you have more than one storey to scale. So, in showing that old curmudgeon Ebenezer the door, as we should in the season of goodwill, we ought not to throw sensible safety precautions out with him.

A most important first safety precaution is to make absolutely sure that the outdoor Christmas lights you’re planning to put up really are designed for use outdoors. Using last year’s indoor lights won’t do – that’s the best way to end up with an electric shock or even a fire. Indoor lights have a different design specification to outdoor lights, which are more heavily insulated and safely water-proofed. Even if you’re sure that your lights are safe for outdoor use, you should check them carefully to make sure they’re all intact. All it takes is one small split in the insulation and the results could be disastrous. And it’s a good idea to test your lights before hanging them, only switching them on outdoors when you’re certain they’re safely fixed. Battery fairy lights, which have been designed for outdoor use are now available in a range of colours and designs and provide a relatively safe alternative to mains-powered lighting for smaller features.

Avoid hanging outdoor lights on a metal tree or gate at all costs – the metal can get charged with electricity if a fault develops and will deliver a dangerous shock to anyone who touches it. And to get to the guttering or soffits, you really need to be aware of ladder safety. It may take two to tango, but it certainly takes two to operate a ladder. You’ll need someone at the base of the ladder to ‘foot’ it – literally place their feet at the base to prevent it from sliding outwards. The ladder should always be on flat, firm ground (avoid soft earth, gravel, or sand) and don’t be tempted to lean it against the guttering at the top – it’s very likely to slide. And don’t over-lean when you’re up there; if you can’t reach the next bit, clamber back down and move the ladder along or you could well end up plummeting back to terra firma at an alarming speed. Finally, always secure electrical lighting cable with either plastic clips on guttering or plastic-coated cup hooks on soffits: nails and staples are strictly forbidden as they can perforate the insulation.

Move over Ebenezer – it’s time for some Christmas lights!

What’s Christmastime without a bit of decorative lighting sprinkled everywhere? Ah, the houses have to be bright enough for Santa Claus to maneuver his sleigh in the nighttime sky to the right houses and shove himself into the chimney, all laden with gifts! But, keeping Santa aside, the lights bring on a festive charm like nothing else can. Outdoor Christmas lights proclaim to all passers-by that you are celebrating the joy of the season. Your lights must definitely match this feeling of joy.Christmas lights come in several different forms, and you will really be confounded if you visit a store selling these lights. There are the basic round colored bulbs that have been used traditionally, but then there are many fancy shapes available nowadays. This year’s favorites seem to be the pearly bulbs, which are actually shaped round like pearls and given a glossy sheen on their outward surface to make them seem more so. Heart shaped bulbs are still present, and you will also find more thematic Christmas lights such as those shaped in the form of icicles, candies, and even holly and mistletoe! Now you have to select how much length of bulb strings you will require. Do not be a Scrooge about buying these bulb strings, especially since you are going to light up the entire exterior of your house, which includes the bushes and the brambles. Bulb strings are nonperishable, so you can stock them in your loft or attic and use them the next year too. You may even experiment with the same bulbs to give a wholly different look to the decoration. Anyways, you will be requiring adequate length to at least cover the front side of your house twice over. Add a few feet of bulb string to cover up for those unavoidable folds and knots you might have to make. If you are dressing up the bushes with outdoor Christmas lights too, then take good-sized length, because bushes have an undesirable habit of camouflaging most of the decorative lights. You can also get cute little lights for your crib. These are the LED Christmas lights, and they come in several different colors. A favorite is to line up the surface of the crib table with a string of LED Christmas lights. You can even add a router to the string to make these lights blink on and off. LED Christmas lights can also be put on the barks of your outdoor trees and can be lined around your flowerpots outside the house. You will, of course, need a wireman to put up the electric points for you outside the house. You can do the setting up of the light strings yourself later on (that’s the creative part anyways), but let the wireman pull out a line from inside the house and provide you with the connection. This is necessary, or you might have to spend Christmastime with a hairstyle resembling that of a freshly plucked turkey. The best part is putting up the lights. You can have a whole family thing here, with each one contributing in their way. Even the kiddies can help in handing out stuff when you are perched atop the stool to put up the lights. One of the most traditional ways is to run the light string along the edges of the house, but no one says you cannot experiment. You can use the LED Christmas lights to write out small messages like ‘Season’s Greetings’ on an outdoor wall of the house. If you have a fence, try getting the new fashion pipe Christmas lights to work on the top portion of the fence. Pipe lights work wonders with picket fences. The Christmas tree holds center stage for the week leading up to Christmas and the week after it. A lot of effort and resources is expended in procuring just the right tree for your house. But the irony is that not many people know of the history behind the tree and its origins. The individual responsible for the Christmas tree was Queen Charlotte, the German-born wife of George III, the “Mad King”. On Christmas Day 1800, she held a party for the children of Windsor, the centerpiece of which was Britain’s first recorded Christmas tree, a yew decorated with sweetmeats, toys and candles. But it became something that seemed like it was the prerogative of only the Royals. It was Prince Albert who turned them into a national one by propagating it thorough the national newspaper.Decorations for the Christmas tree have evolved over the years. Initially the idea was to fill it with all kinds of ornaments and colorful items. Then came the lights. Ostentationism was well entrenched in the Christmas tree culture. Nowadays Christmas trees are used to depict a certain aspect of your life i.e. hobbies, moods, frame of mind etc. It denotes something that is positive and full of hope. A wedding or baby theme can reflect the events of the past year or the year ahead. Current interests, activities and family events can be a source of themes that will add to family memories when viewed in the photo albums in the future. The arrival of a baby can be a theme.A step – by – step approach is required when decorating the Christmas tree. The most important step is to decide on the type of tree itself. The tree is usually chosen after the buyer looks at the number of branches and the way that they are shaped. He has to feel good about the tree at the outset. If each layer of branch has a staggered appearance, the process of decoration is expedited. Most trees with a fresh cut will drink many quarts of water in the first few hours, so check the water level in your tree stand several times a day.A Wilt resistant spray that can be applied to trees before bringing them indoors that claims to keep needles fresh for several weeks. Before getting down to the task of decorating the tree it is advisable to decide on the kind of effect that needs to be achieved. Ideally two sets of lights can be used. The shorter set will spiral around the trunk of the tree from top to bottom, while the longer version will spiral around the branches. The color scheme must ensure that the tree has a minimalist but grand look to it. It would be ideal if a two color scheme was employed. It could be a green, choice between green, gold, purple and red. Place the main color on the tips of the branches and the secondary color deeper into the tree, giving depth to the display. However if the minimalist look is to be eschewed, then many ornaments can be used. At least dozen “filler” ornaments for every 2 feet of tree can be used. These can be inexpensive glass balls readily available at discount stores. There is no point decorating the back of the tree, as it will not be visible in any case. Strands of beads can be looped over the ends of the branches. If the beads have a glossy finish, it would be great as it would reflect the light all over the room. Finally at the top of the tree, the most important ornament must be added. This is something that symbolizes the spirit of Christmas, so it must be unique as well as elegant. Stars and angels have been some of the popular choices in the past. Now that the tree is made, there arises the problem of the tree stand. If the tree stand is visible it could spoil the entire display and take away the magic of the moment. It is imperative that the stand remains covered at all times.

Techniques on Installing Outdoor Christmas Lighting

Techniques on Installing Outdoor Christmas Lighting

There’s something about outdoor Christmas decorations that can just spark the mood for the holiday cheer. A home seem lifeless and without joy without Christmas lights. If you’re looking for the best kind of outdoor Christmas decoration, then you should try looking for outdoor Christmas lighting. Here are some great tips in shopping for and installing lights outdoors.

Price Does Matter

Fire incidents have happened due to cheap but faulty Christmas lightings. You can avoid getting these sub standard products by choosing local government standard approved products instead of dubious imported or online auction lights. Standard outdoor Christmas lighting may be a little more expensive but you should rather spend than risk burning down your property.

If you discounted outdoor Christmas lighting, buy from reputable brand names and during the off season. Buy months ahead of Christmas or days after Christmas for next season. This can help you save a bit while at the same time nit sacrificing quality.

Decide on the Kind of Lights

Christmas decorations and lightings can be in C9 or miniature. Lights that are under C9 are often seen as better options for outdoor lighting. These lights are not only bigger, they are also sturdier and emit brighter lights.

Check the Lights

Before you install outdoor Christmas lighting, make sure that the strings that you use are still in perfect working order. Plug the strings and check for bulbs that no longer light. You can easily replace bulbs by unplugging the strings and replacing the old one with a new one. Aside from checking bulbs, you should also check the wires. Finding frayed or exposed wires means that it is time to for you to buy new lights. Checking for frays is especially important if you think you have mice at home.

Provide Outlets

Outdoor Christmas lighting would usually require you several extension cords. Sometimes though, they may not be the safest especially if the extension is connected to an internal socket. This could be a cause of short circuits. Extension cords that are improperly used and connected could also cause electrocution.

If there is a need to use extensions, make sure that the ones you will be using are sturdy and safe for outdoor use. You should also have outdoor receptacles or outlets from which you can plug extensions for outdoor Christmas lighting. These receptacles should be controlled by internal switches so that you do not have to pull the plug yourself. Also, remember to have a ground fault circuit interrupter that can prevent electrocution especially on wet areas. Extensions wires for outdoor Christmas lighting should be firmly attached to the ground with the extra length of wires clipped and kept in a neat bunch. This is to prevent accidental tripping.

Take Care of Connectors

Connectors are sometimes unavoidable if one outdoor Christmas lighting string is not enough for a specific area. You should make sure though that your connectors are not too exposed and are kept away from wet areas. You can put electrical tape around the connecting line for extra precaution.
