How To Make Outdoor Xmas Decorations Part 2

While that is a nice little addition, I bet you’ll find your yard still kind of empty and lacking in something. We are now going to do a little something to the yard area, and what more appropriate decorations are there than a snowman? If you are thinking that it’s too early to snow or you live in a tropical country, don’t worry as we are actually going to make a handicraft snowman instead.

The first thing you need to do is to mark out your cutting lines. Use big round objects or a big compass to help you trace three overlapping circles of different sizes on the first board, with the biggest circle forming the base. Once done, take your second board and mark only one circle.

Be sure to leave the base of the both boards flat so it can stand. Use your saw or knife to cut along marked lines for both boards. You should now have two boards, one with a full body of three circles (your main board) and a second one with only one big circle at its base (the support board).

A nickel metal hydride (NiMH) rechargeable battery stores the energy. The battery is turned on and off by a sensor allowing it to come on automatically at dusk and extinguishing at dawn. An LED lamp emits the light.

How long the light last throughout the night depends on the size of the solar panel and battery. Usually solar lights will work for about 10 hours with a fully charged battery. The brightness of an LED lamp is comparable to a 2-watt bulb. It takes 12 volts of electricity to power a low voltage landscape light.

LED Outdoor Christmas Lights

As I was trying to find out if LED lights are more efficient and why, I came upon some interesting facts not only about LED lights but the past of Christmas Tree Lights….interesting…

And yes, LED lights which stands for light-emitting diode, are more energy efficient.  We can get very technical but…I’m concerned with energy saving.
